Just Eight Days Old
Israel 2010
Jewish religious circumcision (Brit Milah) ceremony.
This is My covenant between Me, and between you and your offspring. You must circumcise every male.
Throughout all generations, every male shall be circumcised when he is eight days old.
(Translation from 1917 JPS Tanach.)
"The rite of circumcision (Brit Milah) is one of the most ancient practices in Judaism. The Brit Milah is usually performed on an eight day old baby by a Mohel, an expert trained in the ritual and medical technique. This religious family of 11 brothers and sisters shows how joyful and full of love such a delicate moment can be. The Brit Mila is one of the most important events in the life of a Jewish man. It is usually a very emotional day where all the family gets together to celebrate the sacred event that officially introduces the baby into the Jewish world." - Deborah Sinai
